I highly recommend Coach Kristen of Strong Finish Run Coaching. It took careful consideration when I finally decided I was ready to commit to finding a running coach to help me achieve a specific goal for myself. I had narrowed it down to Kristen and one other potential coach, but I knew immediately when I asked for more information and received her questionnaire that she was absolutely the correct choice. She is very detail-oriented and knowledgeable and I felt like I truly got a wholistic approach with her methods. She is not only an impressive speedy runner and mom that you can look up to but she's also "real" and personable while also extremely professional and prompt. She helped me in many areas and I have learned so much from working with her that has made me better. Everything was tailored to my specific needs and for me that was huge. In addition, her feedback is constructive and her praise is genuine. I am so glad I found her and proud to be considered one of her athletes.

I really can't sing Kristen's praises enough. She knows what she is doing and is really easy to work with. I worked with Kristen for 4 months during a marathon training cycle to specifically get a BQ. She put together a tough but manageable training program for me. This was the most stress free training cycle I've had and that is because she makes everything so easy (not the workouts. those are no joke). She also monitored my progress and offered advice and encouragement throughout the entire process. While training with Kristen, I had signficant PRs for both my half marathon and marathon. I would (and have already) HIGHLY recommend her. I can't wait to use her again for a small race held in Boston!
-Sarah Pegram (Tennessee) |
I would highly recommend Coach Kristen to any athlete looking for professional guidance to improve their running and overall fitness. I have absolutely loved working with her! She gets to know her clients goals and history before developing a comprehensive and easy to follow training plan tailored specifically for that athlete. Her plans include in-depth descriptions for each workout including strength training, cross-training, nutrition, post-run recovery, and race day strategies. I found her to be extremely helpful and encouraging with constant check-ins and feedback and she was always available to answer any questions. With Coach Kristen's help, I was able to PR in every distance from 5K to the marathon and am hoping to BQ this year with her help! I am so happy that I decided to work with her - I found a great coach and a great friend!!!

I have had the pleasure of working with Coach Kristen for the past few months in preparation of my 10th marathon this Fall. I am beyond grateful for all the coaching, accountability and support I have received and went into my race more prepared physically and mentally than I have ever been for a race. Everything from pacing to fueling and even recovery were covered during training and for race day that I felt ready and confident to execute to the best of my abilities. I cannot thank Kristen enough for her encouragement and support throughout this whole experience. Whether you are looking to get started with racing, you're shooting for a big PR or even BQ, or if you just want some coaching and guidance heading into your next race, I highly recommend Strong Finish coaching!

Coach Kristen is amazing! I’ve been running for 24 years but in the last 8 months of working with Coach Kristen, I have become a stronger, fitter and faster runner. I’m running paces faster than when I was in my 20s and Coach has brought me to PRs in the 5k, 1/2 marathon and marathon. She is attentive to details, reassuring, encouraging and really creates a training plan that is tailored to each athlete’s individual needs. As a working mom herself, Coach understands how busy life can get with kids and she was always willing to shift workouts and modify my training plan to accommodate those busy moments. I very highly recommend Coach Kristen!

I first really got to know Kristen about a year ago. She was the chapter leader of the local Moms Run This Town group and I frequently saw her at our local YMCA, where we would chat about life and running. At the time, I was recovering from arthroscopic hip surgery for a torn labrum, thanks to tripping over a sidewalk and falling while marathon training several months prior. I looked up to her, a Boston marathoner, and was inspired to take my training to the next level. In October of 2016, I started training with Coach Kristen. I told her I wanted to get faster and she designed a plan that reflected that. She emphasized strength training to prevent injury and started giving me speed workouts--something I had been afraid to try due to prior injuries. I watched in shock and fascination as my running paces decreased. My long run pace went from a 12:00 minute mile to an 11:00, then a 10:30. After only a month of coaching, I beat my previous half marathon PR by 30 minutes. Shortly thereafter, I signed up for a spring marathon and we trained even harder. Kristen is one part cheerleader, one part drill sergeant. She encourages but does not accept excuses. Often I have looked at my assigned workout and said, "she wants me to do what?! I can't do that!" And somehow, I do. She sees potential and pushes. In March of this year, I ran my marathon and PR'd by 53 minutes! I finished in 4:18:57, dropping my overall pace to a 9:53 minute mile. Coach Kristen was waiting for me at the finish with a hug, a mimosa and a knowing smile. I've got a feeling this won't be my last PR.
-Maureen Hollis (Florida) |
Coach Kristen was absolutely awesome to work with!! She created a 12 week training plan that helped me go from a 4:27 marathon down to below 3:39. Kristen really took the time to analyze where I was at with my running and targeted all of my workouts towards my goal. Although the workouts were tough, they were exactly what I needed to help improve my running. Thanks Kristen!! I can't wait to work with you again for my next marathon!!!
-Toni Fritz (South Dakota) |
Once I decided I really wanted to take my training seriously, I knew I needed a coach. Enter Coach Kristen. I worked with Kristen for six months while training for my 4th marathon. Working with Kristen took my training to a whole new level. She worked with me to design a schedule for running, strength training, & rest days (yes, that's part of training!). Many of the workouts were completely new to me, but so much better than what I'd been doing on my own. She's great to work with - very knowledgeable about all things running & nutrition, plus very quick to respond to questions. Over the course of six months, I set new PRs in the 5k, 10k, half marathon (6+min), & marathon (25+min).
-Kara Keating (Ohio) |
I have been working with Kristen for the past several months and I would highly recommend her for your running, nutritional or overall fitness goals. She is so knowledgeable in all types of fitness. She is both professional and personable. She gets to know you and what works best for you and your progression. There are so many benefits to having her as a coach, I could go on and on. Coach Kristen develops plans that work best for your lifestyle and has an eye for detail to meet those goals. She teaches you that the only thing that gets in the way of your goal is your mind. Your body can do far more than we think, it has been so true in my journey. She checks in regularly and also is a master of encouraging. She knows how to push you when you think you can't. She is extremely knowledgeable in nutrition along with the training. She deeply cares not only about your fitness goals but you as a person. She is such a genuine person who loves fitness and shares her knowledge to help others. I not only gained a coach but a friend as well. If you are looking to reach a certain goal, she is the one for you. I couldn't recommend her more!
-Leah Bosman (Washington) |
I started training with Kristen for my second marathon. Her knowledge about running and nutrition is second to none. She put together a manageable, yet hard core, training plan for my 4 months of training. It incorporated running (obviously), strength training, cross training and REST! She also worked with me to be sure I was fueling and hydrating properly before, during and after all of my runs. Kristen followed my training closely and adjusted my plan as needed. She ALWAYS responded to my MANY questions with a timely and professional response. She came to me highly recommended by a former athlete of hers and I absolutely agree that she is a wonderful coach! If you are looking to PR or even just to incorporate better habits into your running routine, I would highly recommend working with Kristen! She was an absolute pleasure to work with as a coach.
-Lisa Malaspine (Florida) |
Kristen is a fantastic coach and an amazing encourager. She's extremely knowledgeable about sports and nutrition, and the detailed training plan she created for me was excellent. I love how easy she is to communicate with, and she is SOOO organized. One of the best things we've worked through in my training is finding hydration and fueling strategies that really maximize my performance and recovery. Highly recommend this extremely professional and KIND lady.
-Sarah Lofgren (United Kingdom) |
Coach Kristen has truly changed my life. There is really no way for me to even put into words the impact she has had on me in the past 7 months. The things I have accomplished in such a short time, are things I never imagined myself ever achieving in my life. 7 months ago, I was coming up on one year of running and decided I was ready to put more effort and time into my running. For the past year I would just enter races every single weekend and miraculously hoped I would improve without doing any kind of training at all. I was completely lost and am so thankful I found Coach Kristen. Now, she has me cross training, and strength training on top of running. In the past 7 months, I have had huge PRs in every single distance and have not only improved as a runner, but my entire attitude towards running and fitness has changed completely. I thought I was passionate about running in the past, but now I have a whole new perspective towards running and am even more passionate and dedicated about it now than I ever was in the past. She pushes me out of my comfort zone every single day and I am so thankful for her dedication. She communicates with me on a daily basis and is always there for me. The best decision I've ever made in my life was deciding to work with Coach Kristen. I would not be the person I am today without her.
-Allison Kort (Florida) |
I would totally recommend Kristen to any runner needing to improve their running abilities. Not only is she super knowledgeable, she tailors your training according to you goals, needs and lifestyle. Don't let her sweetness fool you though... she will push you and challenge you to give your all, all the while believing in you and encouraging you throughout the entire process. After training for 6 marathons on my own and getting injured time and time again, I decided to hire Kristen as my first running coach. Her well-thought out training plan where she mixes tempo runs, strides, fartleks etc, and lets not forget, cross training will no doubt make you stronger! You will be doing a lot of strength workouts and might even venture out in the pool or on a spinning bike! Kristen opened my mind to other sports that I had not considered before and I have never felt stronger! My favorite thing about working with Kristen? She respects the human body and its limitations! She leads by example even in her own personal running journey. We all know us runners can push a little too far. However, while training with Kristen I always felt that my training was healthy and well- balanced. Too much of anything isn't good. Even running!

I have been working with Kristen for almost 5 months now. Originally to train for the Chester Marathon with the view to qualify for Boston, but due to injury my plan had to be altered. But by continuing to work with Kristen through my injury - using swimming, cycling and workouts (Kristen has some very good ones she uses with her programs) my fitness did not suffer. I managed to complete the Chester Metric Marathon (16 miles) and I am now working toward Manchester Marathon in April and with Kristen’s help, support and guidance I am confident a BQ is possible. Even though Kristen is a continent away it is never feels that way. Her responses are always quick and it’s never a problem to alter your schedule if needed. I have never had a running coach before and wasn’t sure how it would work out, but Kristen has really showed me there is more than just running lots of miles. She always takes into account your time restrictions and shows you that even a 30 minute workout can be tough. I am looking forward to continuing to work with Kristen in the coming months and recommend her if you are looking to taking your running to the next level!
-Lorraine Pichelski (United Kingdom) |
I am so happy I utilized Kristen as my running coach. She is always positive. My running workouts were never dull as they were well planned. Kristen is your own personal motivator, helpful and flexible to making your schedule work for you. I became stronger due her prescribed strength and cross training plan and my experience with her was great!

Kristen was my coach for 5 months as I ramped up to train for the LA Marathon. I am so happy that I decided to try coaching with Kristen! I'd never had a coach before, so I was a little apprehensive about how it would work, but it exceeded my expectations! Kristen was SO reachable and communicative. I live in California and while since she's in Florida, I was worried it would be hard to get in touch because of the time difference. But not at all! She was so easy to reach and SO helpful all the time. I had a big goal. I had just finished Chicago Marathon with a huge PR on a perfect day, and I immediately signed up for LA just five months later. I wanted to PR again, and qualify for Boston. I set my goal for 3:35, and followed Kristen for the rest. The workouts were tough, I'm not going to lie, but I knew I was getting stronger and more fit. I always struggle with nutrition, so that was a huge focus for me this time. Kristen was so supportive and understanding about my struggles with food, and she encouraged me to eat for fuel and keep fueling my body with healthy, satisfying foods, but also to splurge a little when I needed it! Not only did I PR in LA, I beat my goal by a whole minute, and qualified for Boston with a 6 minute buffer! I can't wait to use Kristen's coaching again when I begin training for the Boston Marathon!!!
-Cheryl Dauber (California) |
Kristen is an excellent coach. She not only plans every workout, she encourages you and is your biggest cheerleader. She pushes me constantly out of my comfort zone and into paces I would never dreamed of trying, but I can run every time. She will pull you back if needed, too and is really smart about your training program. I have improved immensely and just had a 4 minute half marathon PR. She doesn't only tell you how to run, she is also a great example of what a well rounded runner should do. I look up to her as a runner and trust her judgement. She also become a friend and is one of the nicest people I know.
-Beata Forester (Florida) |
Kristen is simply the best! I had never had a running coach before I found Kristen and I'm so glad I did. She works tirelessly for her clients from planning workouts to giving virtual high fives for crushing the killer workouts! I PR'd and BQ'd with the plan we had so I can't wait for her to coach my training for Boston!!
-Jill Willingham (California) |
Coach Kristen was an awesome coach! Very encouraging and inspiring. She always pushed me to work harder and be my best. The workouts were based on my abilities and needs and adjusted based on how I was doing and how I was feeling. I will definitely use Coach Kristen in the future!
-Dawn Regina (New Jersey) |
I began working with Kristen in March 2017 to prepare for the MCM. Kristen is truly the best coach. Her style is the ideal combination of pushing you outside your comfort zone, cheerleader and holding you accountable to your goals. Kristen is always available and accommodating to edit your training plan when life issues pop up (family issues, unexpected work travel, etc). Kristen’s knowledge of running and all things fitness related is incredible. I’ve learned so much working with her. As I approached race day, I had little pre-race nerves as I felt so well prepared. I PR’d at the MCM and credit that to Kristen! Additionally, my post-race recovery compared to a prior marathon was completely different. Family and friends keep commenting how well I recovered post MCM. Again, I credit Kristen and her guidance for making me a stronger athlete. Running is challenging both physically and mentally. Kristen made me a stronger athlete inside and out! I can’t recommend working with Kristen enough!
-Katie Cassidy (New Jersey) |
I have been running for over a decade - as a recreational runner at first and then in 2013 I ran my first half marathon. My first full followed in 2014. This year, I was fortunate to have a spot for the Berlin and the Chicago marathons, only two weeks apart. Talking with a friend, she recommended enlisting the help of a professional running coach. Hesitant at first as a “go it alone kinda girl”, hiring Kristen turned out to be a most empowering and rewarding experience. Having run 4 full marathons already, my main goal was to feel stronger, better prepared and improve my time for my next full. I was looking for structure, encouragement, guidance and I needed to be pushed to go beyond my self-imposed and perceived boundaries. Kristen delivered on all fronts. Her assessment and coaching plan are thorough and communicating with her could not be easier. In addition to a very challenging running program, she recommended some pretty rigorous strength training routines and provided solid nutrition advice. The workouts are tough for sure but will get you to your goal. In my case, following her instructions, I shaved 17 minutes off my marathon time and felt good enough to run a my second full just two weeks later.
-Barbara Mazzotta (Florida) |
Kristen is a brilliant coach! She coached me through Boston and I've been so impressed by her enthusiasm and knowledge. I live in the UK but it felt like she was just round the corner from home - all her plans and replies to my questions were so timely. I think her attention to detail is key and I loved her strength and cross training sessions which were new to me. I suffered with some injuries during training but Kristen adapted plans for me and provided the moral support that I needed to succeed. I would not hesitate to recommend her.
-Emma Crayton (United Kingdom) |
Kristen is extremely professional and great at keeping track of your progress. Her plans aren't cookie cutter and are designed for your specific needs and goals in mind. I also love that she's flexible with my crazy schedule and sometimes with my crazy requests (i.e. I wanted to run 13.1 just because at my goal time cause I missed my goal during my last race and she was great at adjusting my plan to make that happen.) Kristen shows she cares, is a great encourager, has tons of knowledge, and lives out what she preaches. She's an amazing athlete and is super humble about it. I love my coach!
-Yamina Palma Marlow (Florida) |
I have been working with Kristen for nearly 12 months. I can't believe how much I have improved within those months. I love the training plans she sends me each week. I like the fact that she works out the pace for track workouts, tempo runs and the long runs. She will constantly keep in touch with me to ask how my workouts are going. Since working with Kristen I have PRd my half and full marathons. I will continue to work with Kristen and will advice anyone who feels that they need motivation or new goals to contact her.
Victoria Cusak (Florida) |
I've been working with Coach Kristen since December 2015 and it's been a great experience! She continuously provides me a training plan that's specific to my meet my unique needs, goals and requests. Kristen is quick to respond to my questions and provide daily workout feedback. I love the accountability of having a coach and not having to plan and balance workouts. I absolutely recommend working with Kristen to help you reach your goals or simply to keep yourself accountable!
-Holley McNeely (Florida) |
I've been running for the past 8 years in many different distance races, without any training. I've competed in many sports throughout my life and I've had a lot of coaches but never in my adult life. Signing up with Kristen was a first for me but I knew I was missing something and had room to improve. So I decided to give it a go in the beginning of 2017. It was very eye opening to me to see what a true schedule should look like. Kristen incorporated everything I was already doing, but gave me a real structure that not only got me stronger, but faster too. I'm very excited to start another training schedule with Kristen for my next race in November and add more nutrition and speed work. I would recommend her services to anyone that asks and even those that don't!
-Ashley Poser (Florida) |
Coach Kristen- amazing coach! I have been working with Kristen since April. She is so inspiring herself it’s hard not to catch some of her drive and enthusiasm for performing the best you can. She takes a great deal of thought and time creating my training plan and is so accommodating when work travel or schedule conflicts arise. I so appreciate the encouragement and enthusiasm she places on every single athlete she coaches. She is talented, organized, and caring - I feel like I have known her forever. I highly recommend her for an type of runner- whether you are just starting out or a seasoned athlete- Coach Kristen is the perfect fit!!
-Kimber Stanley (Florida) |
Coach Kristen is wonderful! Not only is she accessible easily by email and text messaging but she CARES about her athletes. She spends time adjusting training plans for our schedules and if something doesn’t work we alter it. She is so positive and encouraging; on days when I had a bad run or felt like I performed poorly she would remind me of all my accomplishments up to that point. Kristen is so knowledgeable. I trust her and her training plans because she listens to what i have to say and she knows what works! I’m so thankful for her and helping me achieve an hour+ PR on my marathon time (and we have more goals!!). I’m so thankful for her encouragement, support and love of running. I can’t wait to keep working with her! Thank you so, so much, Kristen!!
-Chelsea Curto (Florida) |
I have a passion for running and it's all about placing an insane PR goal in front of me and smashing it to bits. I got into this obsession (running) about 3 years ago. There really wasn't any direction in my running/training. I just went out there and ran. Between my busy schedule at work and taking care of my two little girls I didn't have much time to devote to a training schedule. About a year ago I came across Strong Finish run coaching and decided to give it a try. I needed guidance and direction to take my running to the next level. I have been using Kristen's online coaching services just shy of a year now. In the first 5-6 months I shaved 10 minutes off of my Half Marathon PR! Went from 1:59 to 1:49! She creates a plan that is tailored to your work schedule and current skill level. She is way more than just a "fancy run scheduler". A good coach doesn't just tell you what to do..... Coach Kristen has been there with guidance, motivation, encouragement, and a training plan that has brought serious results!! You can tell right off the bat that this isn't just a "business" to her. This is someone who has a passion for people to reach their goals! I look forward to continue working with Kristen to smash the next PR!!
-Andy Gervais (Florida) |
Kristen is an incredible coach. I initially reached out to her before the Boston marathon because I knew that race was going to be hard for me based on my non-existent training, but I planned on using her only for Berlin marathon in fall of 2017. She started my plan for the Monday after Boston with recovery tips, but she became my coach immediately. She reached out to me and helped me with tips for the Boston course and encouraged me through all of the ups and downs of that race. Kristen was there every step of the way changing and customizing my plan to help me for my fitness and in the inevitable issues that come along with training. Berlin marathon was an incredible race. I had so much fun and felt great the entire way. I tend to think that anyone can run a marathon, but it's how you feel after the marathon that really reflects on your training. I felt great. I was able to go to the Berlin after-party that same night and never felt exhausted. I stayed in Europe and put in about 10-12 miles of sightseeing mileage every day after the race and with the exception of a bit of quad soreness, I felt ready to conquer and explore. Thank you Kristen for getting me to the start and finish!
-Christine Hetzel (Florida) |
This was the best present my husband has ever given me! I was looking to improve my pace and see what I was capable of but wasn't quite sure where to begin. Coach Kristen and her training program gave me all the tools I needed to meet my goals. Coach incorporated speed work and tempo runs into my half marathon training plan along with easy paced runs and weekend long runs. I was impressed with all of the education, dedication and support I received through out my training. It was definitely hard work but it all paid off. I ended up taking 9 minutes off of my half marathon time!! I will definitely be seeking her expertise for my next half marathon. Thank you Coach!!
-Katie Roemer (Florida) |
Kristen was great to work with! She explained the basics of running to me, and showed me what some of the terminology was (strides, pickups, etc). She worked around my nursing schedule, and was quick to respond to any questions I had. Her support through the last three months, was amazing. I plan on using her services again in the future, as my running goals get bigger. I highly recommend Strong Finish Coaching to anyone who wants to learn about running, get better at running or just need someone to guide them no matter what their fitness goals are.
-Jennifer Ghent (Florida) |
I've been "living" in Orlando most weeks since late October 2015 (that business traveler life ). Once I decided to register for my 2nd marathon, I knew I needed help. I was drawn to Coach Kristen by her expertise - running and sports nutrition. My goal is/was to transform as a runner, and I needed both to achieve this goal. She created a customized training program for me, which took into account my busy travel schedule and racing addiction . She pushed me and held me accountable!!! She called me out for those unhealthy food choices I was making. While still a work in progress, I started making healthy nutrition choices based on recommendations from Coach. These choices (along with an amazing training plan) were the number one reason I had a GREAT marathon on June 5th. I felt confident going into the race (and well trained) and amazing throughout the race. And thanks to Coach Kristen, I proudly crossed that finish line like a BOSS, crushing my previous time!!! And as a bonus increased my half marathon time by 17 minutes!!! Looking forward to our program for MCM and all of the craziness I have planned!!!
-Tracey Shanese (South Carolina) |
Coming off of a hip injury in December, I knew that I needed some help to get back on track. Coach Kristen was exactly what I needed. She is very attentive and pays close attention to detail. The plan was exactly what I needed. I have worked toward getting back to my pre-injury pace and I am almost there. I would definitely recommend any runner look into Coach Kristen's programs. She has something to meet your needs for sure!! I am still working with her and I hope to hit my sub 2 half marathon this fall.
-Kae Harrison (Georgia) |
I've been working with Kristen since April (6 months) and she has been awesome. She has an incredible amount knowledge and enthusiasm about running, eating healthy and fitness. She puts together a tailored plan that meets your personal abilities and expectations. I love how the program holds you accountable, but also how encouraging she always is. And you know it can be done, no matter what your schedule, because she's done it. The program is also flexible, because we all know that sometimes, life just happens =) You have to remember that it's a complete approach, and you can't ignore what you eat, and you have to incorporate strength training. But if you stay with it, you will definitely see results! I can't remember the last time I've felt this strong, or confident in my running. I am not anywhere near marathon level, but when I started, I could barely run a mile. I tried different online running programs they were too generic and I tried to do too much, too soon, resulting in an injury and forced me to start over. Now, I can run a 5K (without intervals), AND we are working on speed so I can be faster. For me, that's a huge achievement, and I look forward to more. No matter where you are with your running -- if you have hit a wall and want to improve, Kristen can help. Thank you Kristen!!!
-Teresa Ruhl (Florida) |
I worked with Kristen for several months and had a great experience with her as my coach. I was looking to bring my training to another level, and she knew exactly what was needed to get me there. I feel faster and stronger because of the workouts and strength sessions she prescribed. She's very knowledgeable, extremely supportive, and flexible in her coaching. Having 2 young kids, my schedule can be a little unpredictable at times, but she was always more than willing to work with me and switch things up as needed. I highly recommend Coach Kristen!
-Lisa Holbrook (Pennsylvania) |
I decided a couple months ago that I really had no idea what I was doing as a runner, so I looked into getting a running coach.
I signed up with one coach who does online coaching and used her for a few weeks, but we didn't connect and it wasn't working for me.
After, running and talking with running Coach Kristen with Strong Finish, I decided that she would be a better fit for what I was looking for and signed on with her. From day one I was insanely impressed with her detail in material and detail in the workouts that she gives. She explained everything so there wasn't any question on what my workout was going to be or how to do it! Nutrition is included and she has me logging my food so she can evaluate things that I may need to add or change based on my activity level! I never felt like she didn't have time for me or like she wasn't paying attention to what I was doing because if I forgot to log my workout she would email me or comment and ask how it went, having someone that invested in your goals and getting you to them is a great feeling and tremendous confidence boost!
There is nothing that she could have done differently to get me to my goal. Her coaching was spot on and the workouts she gave me were perfect for what I was aiming for! I can't say enough great things about her coaching and program other than I am super excited to continue working with her and look forward to more races and my marathon PR with her guidance.
-Stacey Gustafson (Florida) |
Coach Kristen is an amazing run coach! She is very knowledgeable, super conscious about nutrition and an expert in figuring out what you need based on your weakness and strength to get you running strong. Her attention to detail is off the chart. She lives by example and she's a truly inspiration on the pavement and off the pavement. I am a better runner today because of Coach Kristen's guidance. No doubt!
